The Three R’s Of Planning A Conference At Your Location

1. REASONS - WHY BEREAVEMENT TRAINING IS AN ASSET TO YOUR HOSPITAL OR ORGANIZATION
   • Build greater teamwork, trust and communication among employees who interact on the job by providing a common training experience.
   • Utilize proven techniques and skills resulting in a standard of care for patients and families experiencing loss.
   • Showcase your agency as a leader in bereavement care by providing this education.
   • Generous savings in registration fees - cost savings depend upon the conference planning option you choose.
    
2. REWARDS - FOR PARTNERING WITH BEREAVEMENT SERVICES FOR YOUR EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
   • Cost-Efficiency: Minimize employee time away from work, travel time and expenses
   • Convenience: Deliver education to your employees at a time and place you select
   • Continued Support: Bereavement Services’ staff is only a phone call away when questions/situations arise where you need consultation.
    
3. RESPONSIBILITIES - ASSUMED BY BEREAVEMENT SERVICES AND YOUR FACILITY OR ORGANIZATION

   Bereavement Services will:

   1. Provide a contract for the dates selected for the conference.
   2. Provide and ship all training materials to the meeting site.
   3. Provide the speaker(s) and be responsible for their expenses including honorarium, airfare, ground transportation, lodging and meals.
   4. Provide an optional inservice on bereavement for your medical staff.
   5. Provide a lapel pin to attendees completing the training.
   6. Provide a color certificate of attendance and CEU’s for each person who completes the course he/she is registered for.

   Your Facility or Organization will:

   1. Select a date for the conference.
   2. Provide a location for the course to be held.
   3. Promote the conference within your institution, community or region.
   4. Arrange for the audiovisual equipment required.
   5. Arrange for guest speakers and/or panels as required by the course selected.
   6. Assist with on-site registration the first day of each course.
   7. Coordinate bookstore sales of Bereavement Services’ materials.
   8. Arrange return shipping of display and unused materials.

Conference Planning Options

Sponsorship: Bereavement Services provides the course(s )selected to your staff. This is an excellent opportunity for consistent, comprehensive bereavement care within a healthcare system.

• Your organization pays a single fee to have Bereavement Services teach one of the courses described above.
• A specified number of your staff may attend the course(s) selected.
• The course(s) selected is tailored to your organization.

Co-sponsorship: An opportunity to partner with Bereavement Services to provide the course(s) of your choice within your setting. Your staff and other attendees from around the country are able to learn from one another.

• Provides attendance at the course(s) selected for a specified number of your staff at no charge.
• An additional specified number of your staff may attend the course(s) you selected at a reduced rate per registration.
• This results in a savings of $5000 or more in tuition costs.

Hosting: You provide the facility and audiovisual equipment for the course(s) selected. Bereavement Services assumes a higher level of conference planning responsibility.

• Bereavement Services assumes more responsibility for coordinating, promoting and troubleshooting the conference.
• Participants from your area have opportunities to network with others from around the country who care for the dying and bereaved, while saving time and travel costs.
• As a Host, your organization receives attendance for 1 attendee at no charge and reduced rate registration for a specified number of your staff.
